Pay a visit to the Golden Ring House in Prague's Old Town and see the Prague City Gallery exhibition titled In a Skirt – Sometimes / Art of the 1990s.
This exhibition attempts to showcase the shift that occurred in the Czech art scene in the 1990s with the presence of assertive women artists, who had been before eclipsed by their male counterparts. The exhibition features fourteen women artists including Veronika Bromová, Milena Dopitová, Lenka Klodová, Martina Klouzová-Niubó, Zdena Kolečková, Alena Kotzmannová, Markéta Othová, Míla Preslová, Elen Řádová, Štěpánka Šimlová, Kateřina Šedá, Michaela Thelenová, Markéta Vaňková, and Kateřina Vincourová. Their works, different in subject matter and therefore different visually from their above-mentioned male counterpart artists, enhanced not only their status in the 90s art scene, but the overall quality of the artworks created in that time period.
