The “Marshmallow Sofa” ranks amongst the earliest expressions of Pop-Art in the field of furniture design. George Nelson created it in 1965 and today, Vitra produces it in re-edition. The sofa is formed by eighteen rounded pillows in blue, violet, orange, red and green which are inspired by the marshmallow candies. The construction is composed of tubes and profiles in black-varnished steel. The eighteen pillows of the basic version with eighteen pillows can be added according to a client’s wish.
