The chair “Cité” ranks amongst the earliest designs by Jean Prouvé. It originated as a design created for the competition of furniture for the Nancy University colleges. The construction is of lacquered steel and it bears a seating part with a backrest, all of which is organically joined into a whole. The hand rests are either fabric or leather straps. Vitra offers the “Cité” chair in black, red or cream lacquer which goes with the corresponding color of upholstering. The listed price is for the basic version; prices of other versions are available upon request.
