Claes Odenburg, American sculptor of Swedish origin, is one of the most significant representatives of Pop Art. His work was heavily influenced by the pop culture and he mainly focused on monumentalizing banal, purely consumerist products, thus critically pointing at the phenomenon of the greedy, consumerist society. His works, realized as objects in a public space in many places all around the world, had considerable impact on many artists. The critic of market society, Odenburg ironically became one of the bestselling artists and also his prints became unique collector’s delicacies.
